Trees of the Algarve
Inhaltsverzeichnis
In addition to the sometimes distinctive tree form, the flowers have their own beauty. While the almond tree is famous for its flowers, hardly anyone knows the blossom of the olive tree or the carob tree.
Almond Tree:
Many legends entwine around the flowers. When the almond tree blossoms, spring in the Algarve can not be far away.
Olive Tree:
Insects do not find the small bright olive blossoms particularly interesting. So they are pollinated exclusively by the wind and the sea near the Algarve never fails.
Carob Tree:
Only after about six years does the carob tree bloom for the first time. Even before the new leaves expire in autumn, the grape-shaped flowers grow.
Fig Tree:
It is often said that figs have no flowers. On the fig tree, the flower sits inside the fig, making it appear that the figs have no flowers.
